Best Beaches – New Smyrna Beach

There are tons of fun activities in our town, but there’s just no beating those sunny, relaxing days lounging on the beach! Here are our favorite beaches in New Smyrna Beach:

wooden path leading to a tranquil beach

Smyrna Dunes Park at the North end of town: This park is beachfront and spans from the riverfront, around the inlet, to the rock jetty on the beach. There’s a boardwalk for a nice long leisurely walk to take in the views of the boats, Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, and surfers at the jetty. It’s also pet-friendly so you can bring your best furry friend along as long as he’s leashed. Read more about Smyrna Dunes Park.

Drive on!: From the north end of town, south to 27th Ave, you can drive on the beach at multiple access points. Take the opportunity to drive the beach and find your perfect spot to set up. View and download this convenient beach ramp map.

Walk on!: There are public beach access ramps and parking lots throughout the entire shoreline. It is hard to find a place that you can’t access the beach. Walk from your house/condo or park at one of the Pay-to-Park lots and you are just steps from your spot in the sand.

Canaveral National Seashore: The south end of town, take Atlantic south until it dead-ends and you’ll reach the Canaveral Seashore. This area of the beach is shelly sand, quiet, and remote. Like what Florida was like a 100 years ago. It’s a beautiful place to enjoy the tranquility, or do some surf fishing, and maybe end your day with lunch/dinner at JB’s Fish Camp overlooking Mosquito Lagoon.

Don’t forget surf lessons: Jimmy Lane Surf Camp has been teaching kids to surf for over 30 years. Lindsey Baldwin has been giving lessons for 15+ years and was one of the top-ranked pro surfers in the world. See also Surfin’ NSB.
