Founded over 19 years ago by cousins and California natives James Oranje and Dan Buffum, Florida Coast to Coast began as a small, family-run operation with a simple yet powerful mission—to provide high-quality construction services while fostering strong relationships within the community. What started as a modest venture in Tampa, Florida focusing on small-scale home renovations quickly grew into a full-service construction company in New Smyrna Beach 10 years ago capable of handling both residential and commercial projects.

James, a skilled wood worker and craftsman has over 36 years of hands-on construction experience, with a list of complex projects that include apartment complexes, retirement communities, hospitals and military bases.  Dan brings with him over 31 years of construction skills, which includes union work for industrial facilities, hospitals, military bases and the Aerojet sector for Swinerton and Unger Construction.  Ian Oranje, a principal owner, foreman and supervisor has worked in the field for over 15 years obtaining his building license in 2019.  The only non-family member of our full-time staff, John Elwood, a Florida native, has worked with Florida Coast to Coast for over 7 years and oversees site management and job estimating.  John brings over 25 years of construction experience in both residential and commercial projects and is a critical asset to our team.
